Dr. Alan Clark

Dr. Alan Clark has been a practicing psychotherapist in Columbus, Ohio for 30 years, early in his career specializing in private practice with stepfamilies and marriage counseling. Since the late 1980's he has worked extensively with adoptive families.

Dr. Clark is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Supervisor, and a Licensed Independent and Family Therapist in the state of Ohio. He has also been a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy since 1979. For the last ten years he has been a clinical director of the Parenthesis Post-Adoptive Outpatient Counseling program.

He is particularly knowledgeable in the areas of attachment, trauma, and separation and loss in children. At the current time he has a general practice with adults and children in the areas of individual, marriage, and family counseling.

Education: Dr. Alan Clark holds a Masters in Theology and a Doctorate in Family Studies and Marriage and Family therapy from Colgate Rochester/Crozier Center of Theological Studies in Rochester, New York.
